Recognise us from the big screen? Here’s a few of the times that we’ve been used as a filming venue

Located in the heart of central London, our Tavistock Square venue is a prime film and photoshoot location and has been used by some of the biggest production companies.

We’re proud to have hosted a range of productions including those with Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, BBC, and ITV.

Hannah Robinson, BMA House’s Venue Manager said: “Prior to 2020, we had occasional enquiries as a filming location, but without us promoting the building. We realised the potential we had with such a beautiful building and gardens, and the team wanted to go for the opportunity.”

Robinson added: “Following a sustained focus, including the development of specialist packages, marketing collateral and dedicated sales resource, we delivered nine confirmed shoots last year. These included several high-profile shows, for leading production companies.”

While you may already be familiar with some of the productions for which our venue has provided a memorable backdrop, we wanted to share some of the major films and TV series BMA House has recently had the pleasure of being involved in.

    Red Eye (ITV)

This popular six-part thriller by ITV stars Jing Lusi, Jemma Moore and Lesley Sharp and follows the three women as they are thrown into a life-threatening conspiracy. The exterior of BMA House was used by the Red Eye team, including the Courtyard and Garden areas.

“The Courtyard and Courtyard Garden at the BMA are hidden gems in London, especially as filming locations. From the initial enquiries to the final shoot day, the events team at the BMA were fantastic. They were clear with their parameters whilst being responsive and patient with our fast paced and ever-changing environment in the Film and TV industry. I wouldn’t hesitate to offer up BMA House at Tavistock Square as a multi-use site for filming again.” – Tom Mellish, Supervising Location Manager

    The Diplomat (Netflix)

The Netflix drama The Diplomat is based around a career diplomat who’s juggling their high-profile job as an ambassador to the UK and a turbulent marriage, amid an international crisis. Stars Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell and David Gyasi can be seen in several of our filming spaces during the series, including the Courtyard, meeting rooms, and the Garden.

“BMA House at Tavistock Square is a fantastic location with great filming spaces from the courtyard, gardens, offices, events spaces and even a disused bank! From the initial scout to filming the Events team has been incredibly accommodating, responsive and patient as our shoot requirements developed. During filming, their events liaison, on-site security and FM team were superb in assisting our on-the-day requests. I would happily recommend BMA House for filming and/or crowd-basing and hope to return for future projects.” – Cécile Howard, LMGI – Assistant Location Manager

    Slow Horses (Apple TV)

Following a team of MI5 agents and their boss as they work to defend England from sinister forces, this Apple TV spy drama stars Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden, and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Our Snow and Paget rooms were used as a holding space for the crew, costume storage and hair and makeup. Plus, some of our exterior spaces were also featured during the series.

    Bridgerton (Netflix)

This historical romance Netflix series stars Adjoa Andoh, Julie Andrews and Lorraine Ashbourne and follows eight siblings as they seek love and happiness in London’s high society.

Several of our spaces were used as holding space for the crew, costume storage and hair and makeup. The Dickensian streets that surround our Tavistock Square events venue were also filmed for the series.

    The Nevers (HBO)

Set in Victorian London, this sci-fi drama follows a group of women known as the “Touched”, who manifest abnormal abilities, whilst on a mission that might change the world.

Our spaces were used as back of house holding areas for items such as props, equipment, wardrobes, hair and makeup whilst filming took place within the local area.
